a little creation for my mom

this should get me caught up for a week as i have to do what normal bloggers do and make this a regular habit.

of course i made something for my mom for mother's day!  i threw a flower pot i made in class to sit inside the wreath (forgot a picture of that but will get one) and brought her a little treat back from the bahamas all wrapped up pretty.  i love paper wreaths for the environmental reasons but i really love them because i can reuse them again and again.  i can change them as they age, freshen them up with some add-ons or layer more color & texture on as i see fit.

this one is bright, full of spring and color and just fun to look at!  we'll talk soon - enjoy.

a paradise to replenish all senses

there is nothing like caribbean water.  nothing.  back in May we headed south of our normal island to a new place in the bahamas that is truly a paradise on earth.  there is so much to be said about taking time away from all things plugged in to unplug yourself and replenish on every level...mostly inwardly.

though not a place where i do anything creative except choose a creative drink each night to try, it is a place that allows me to sort through all the muck in my head and soul.  it allows me the time and space to explore new ideas, new paths, new options, new inspiration and no critic is around.  just openness.

we still keep talking about what an amazing trip this was and we can't wait to go back.   i keep the images in my head every day so that i don't forget any of those new explorations i charted out in my head to get started on one at a time.   i am slow and still new at this so it will take some time.     be patient.

easter comes a little late

i didn't get a chance to do my usual easter decorating with no time at all this past season.  it is one i do enjoy and so i dug up some from easter past to share to give you an idea of how fun it is to celebrate this pagan holiday at our house!

i also have a dozen or so very large goose eggs from one of my favorite farmers, eddy, that i have committed to decorate for him (& me mostly).  those await my eclectic designs and once complete i will share.  enjoy and have some jelly beans on me:)

inspiration from far away

how far behind i am with my posting and i need to get in gear.  my apologies to you.  it was quite a brutal late spring before heading out for vacation (on one of the next posts) last month and still am running...nonetheless it is my duty to keep myself growing...

this is the folder of images i opened to so i felt i should share.
a trip i was so fortunate to take a few years ago now was to bangkok, thailand with stephen.    what an overwhelming experience on my senses from the smells of the hot hot pavement, to the street vendors cooking their food.  the exhaust from the way too many modes of vehicular transportation to the visually stunning temples.  the secret open air food & tchotchke markets to the river running through it all.  so many things to look at and take in.  such an enormous city with no logical layout of the streets, alleys, sub-alleys and everything in between.

what i loved most & do about any country is their history.  their temples, statues, artifacts, culture and rituals.  i share below some of that from the Wat Pho temple & the Palace which was filled with hand made mosaic covered temples with buddah and many warriors & religious figures watching over us all.  the texture, the walls of floor to ceiling paintings of small scenes, the sacred rituals of the followers.  something to be experienced and explored.  enjoy.
