bigger than big

a quick note.  i was working on a project to make large soaking foot baths.  they needed to be both quite wide and high in the making so that when fully done shrinking, they would still fit a good size foot on top of larger flat hot stones.

well, the first one i made at 16lbs was a very lovely serving dish for a large party.  i should have kept it for myself since i host them often.  The second attempt at 20lbs was quite the workout...much harder than the first AND we also decided that we needed to add another 10lb ring on top of the base just so we could reach the final vision.

the whole thing ended up going in a much different direction....an outside container pot.  the shape just didn't become what i envisioned.

that's ok.  I backed away from the project though i am too stubborn to let it go.  I will try again soon enough and i hope it will become a beautiful thing.  in the meantime, here's a look-see at it in pre-drying and firing.  it will take a month to dry.  ugh. Be well.
